Sometimes it starts with a person. A memory. A milestone. A loss. A textile you’ve been keeping for years. Or an idea strange enough that you’re not quite sure who else to ask.
Bespoke Kimonoir pieces are designed one at a time, around the person they’re for and the story they need to carry.

Some bespoke pieces begin with loss.
A favourite shirt. His ties. Her summer dress. The thing that still smells like them. Clothing that has been sitting in a box because you can't imagine giving it away, but don't quite know what else to do with it.
I can work those textiles into something that stays part of your life — a coat, a bag, a lining, or something we haven't thought of yet.
One of the first pieces like this came from the clothing of someone very dear to a woman I love. His ties became part of a handbag she could carry with her.
