She moves like a memory. Light spills through the air, catching on her sleeves, dancing across the floor. This linen and lace shrug glows. Instead it whispers. It’s stitched from time.
Folklore by Candlelight began as a vintage tablecloth, carefully repurposed and reimagined. It’s unlined, unquilted, and intentionally sheer in places, where delicate embroidery, in soft cream and taupe, leaves quiet openings at the cuffs and edges. Light moves through it the way breath moves through curtains: gentle, surprising, holy.
But it’s the back that holds the heart of this piece. It’s a one of a kind, picked from a market in Paris, hand-embroidered panel of a woman carrying a candle, her face lit from within by a flickering glow. The candle’s light echoes the way sunlight and lamplight filter through the embroidered holes in the fabric, creating a layered dance of shadows and radiance. The result is something spellbinding.
It feels like folklore. Like finding your grandmother’s handwriting in a book of spells. It’s the kind of piece you wear when you want to feel illuminated from the inside out, bringing the past gently forward, one step at a time.
Made from vintage materials and carefully sewn to preserve every stitch of original embroidery. One size fits most (S–L best, due to the drape), designed as a layering piece — part garment, part art, part ghost story.
For candle carriers, dusk dreamers, and those who believe fabric can hold a little magic.
